5/9

This is a total temporizing note:

I'm in the midst of working on the site (taking a couple of hours out to work on something else. When it's finished, you should see a link here that leads you to a table that contains the following:

1. A link of all class members.
2. A link to everyone's email.
3. A chart that lists assignments received by class, as well as areas marked out for places where an assignment's not due.
4. A link from each assignment received to the assignment itself.

I expected to have this all finished this evening (Sunday, May 9th) but it's simply taking longer than I thought it would -- largely because I'm having to sort through assignments, and not all of them are clear about what they are. I'm slogging away, though.

I'm running to NYC early Monday morning, and will keep working on this as of Monday evening and Tuesday morning. Ideally, I'll have things done by that point. I do note that there are a number of folks who still owe me copies of their assignments, but I'm simply not far enough along to give you all the list as of yet. As I promised, I WILL email each of you, as well as post eveything here.

Hi All:

Well, we actually come to the close of this process, and I find I've still got a ton of work to do, both on the class and on the site. I want to take a couple of moments to let you know how that's going to unfold.

First, I'll do my best to get all of your assignments up online as quickly as I can. There's been some extraordinarily good work done by all of you, and I want to make it available so you can see what others have done.

Next, I want to say a bit about what will happen to this site. Building it as part of this class has been a good experiment, and it's one I intend to take further. I'm going to turn the courseware into a more permanent resource for technology planning, that's organized in terms of the subject areas as opposed to the class dates, so I'll end up archiving most of this area, and rebuilding it under subject categories. Please feel free to check back in whenever you like -- I hope to make this an ongoing and expanding project, and it's truly been exciting to see additional resources and options pop up even during the course of our class period. This is an area where a lot of work is getting done, and you should look for it to develop rapidly over the next year or so.

Joe

So, old notes:

A couple of things for you to note, in terms of how this works. Clicking the title at the top will always take you to this page, which is where you should look for any timely announcements not related to specific class dates (and perhaps some of those as well...). The dates on the left are (or will be) linked to the class material. The colors relate to the type of class that date: RED is for EDUCATION and BLUE is for TECHNOLOGY.

The links directly below the dates will take you to the class syllabus for Arnie or me.

Arnie's classes will necessarily be more compact in their descriptions than mine, (basically taken from his syllabus) as he has a class pack, but as you send me your assignments that area will begin to fill up as well. Take a look at the February 10 link -- you'll see that the assignments from those of you who sent them are in place.

At the bottom of the page you'll find the contact information for Arnie and myself.

If you have any questions or problems, please don't hesitiate to ask! A reminder that my office hours are the hour or two before class.
